The kayakers left Davis Locks around 9 am this morning.

They headed to Chaffey's Locks which they sailed through with no delay. There were a lot of generous donors at Chaffey's and we had a chance to talk to a few of them about our trip and why we're doing it. Everyone seems to have a story to share about someone close that they've lost to cancer. It just reinforces our reason for doing this trip.

After leaving Chaffey's, the team had to pull over and ask a cottager to use their land line to call the Lowell Green show on 580 AM -- the cell phone reception isn't too great back here in the Rideau Lakes. Kevin took a few minutes to update Lowell on our progress so far. Hopefully he'll be touching base with him on a daily basis, so stay tuned to their station for a live report from the canal every morning this week.
