9:02 am - A mad
rush to pack with storms brewing overhead
|
After our fill of burgers,
dogs and sausages, courtesy of our good friends
at Beveridges IGA, the team settled down for a
pretty quiet evening. Most were asleep by 10 pm,
but there were a few die hards who had to sample
some of Merrickville's finest night life...and
catch the sports scores -- we've been a bit out
of touch for the last 6 days.
The last stragglers crawled
into their tents around midnight. However, all
were abruptly awoken around 3 am, as the skies
finally opened up and the rain pelted the "fly-less"
tents (everyone had removed their protective tent
"fly" covers to get some better air
circulation). There was a mad scramble to get
them back on -- only a couple of people didn't
bother and got soaked...we won't say who they
were but one of them is in the photo to the left.
