The Road Crew met up with the kayakers at Old
Slys Locks in Smiths Falls for lunch. We're still
getting lots of media attention -- a local reporter
came out and took some photos, plus there are
rumours that the CTV-CJOH spot made it on Canada
AM this morning.
The kayakers had an easy paddle in the morning,
pulling in ahead of schedule. Once they set off
again, the Road Crew decided to do a bit of mandatory
site seeing and visit, what else, but the Hershey
factory! Good thing there was still some room
in the trucks for all of our candy loot!
On to Merrickville, a beautiful small town where
we set up camp beside the locks. One of our sponsors,
Beveridges (Osgoode), hosted a great BBQ for the
K4C team which helped to raise more funds for
cancer research.
