It was exhilarating to see the many kayakers, who paddled with such purpose this week, finally finish with a sense of accomplishment, success and celebration! They met the challenge head on and won! Congratulations K4C team!

After a few minutes, the gates to the locks opened, the kayaks streamed through, and the kayakers were helped out of their boats for the last time.

Everyone gathered around while Kevin presented a cheque for a whopping $35,000 to Fiona and Len, our reps from the Canadian Cancer Society. This is our highest annual K4C donation to date and it brings our total 3-year K4C contribution to $87,000! Way to go! Let's hope this will make a small difference in the fight to beat cancer!

The whole team, ground crew and kayakers were presented with t-shirts from the Canadian Cancer Society and everyone enjoyed a final time together before saying their goodbyes.

Thanks to everybody who was a part of Kayaking for Cancer this year including all of our donors and sponsors, our awesome ground crew, our determined kayakers, Kevin & Mich + clan for organizing the event, Fiona our CCS rep, and all the Parks Canada lock staff. We couldn't have done it without you!
