rides the waves of the pontoon boat
|
After a cool, comfortable
night's sleep (finally!) , we woke up late and
took our time packing up. Today is the easiest
day of paddling, a leisurely 18 km. Some of the
road crew took advantage of this and hopped on
the canopied pontoon boat (traded yesterday for
the aluminum one) and enjoyed a cruise with the
kayakers.
As the flotilla arrived at
Hurst Marina, the sky darkened and thunder rumbled.
Luckily it passed by us and didn't soak our BBQ,
sponsored once again by Beveridges IGA. This time
they cooked up half chickens, fresh salads and
rolls -- it was awesome. We're surprised the kayakers
could fit back in their boats afterwards!
