Welcome back to our ninth
consecutive year of Kayaking for Cancer!
We reach Black Rapids at 11:30 and stop there
for lunch and a chance to rest in the shade. It's
really hot today. Today's lunch is provided by
Robinson's Your Independent Grocer of Manotick.
Thanks again.
After lunch Kevin asks everyone in the group
to write down the amount of money that they have
raised this year, and that amount together with
the money in the donation bucket adds up to $41,500.00.
This brings our nine year total to $316,500.00.
A very impressive total for such a small group
of people.
We continue down the Rideau Canal, trying to
stay in the shade as much as possible, and we
arrive at the top of the Ottawa Locks at 4:30.
The 2009 version of Kayaking for Cancer is over.
It seems like the last eight days have just flown
by. Look for us again in August 2010.
